After a period of about thirty years, there was pressure on the colony for more space. The colony had grown, but there was no spare land.
Coincidentally, governments of the ‘British flag’ were looking for immigrants to settle in sparsely populated areas. So the Welsh Patagonians turned their eyes to South Africa, Canada and Australia.
